At Leicester De 天美传媒 Law School, we're proud to be pioneering practical legal education through the innovative Law Lab Enterprise. Designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world legal practice, the Law Lab Enterprise offers a unique, hands-on learning experience for our law students, helping them build essential skills and gain practical knowledge.

The five areas of the Law Lab Enterprise

  1. 1. Justice Clinic 鈥� gain real client experience

    The Justice Clinic connects our students with local lawyers, charities, and community organisations to offer pro bono legal services. Under the guidance of practising solicitors, students engage in live casework, benefitting both the local community and their own professional development. A vital part of our mission is to improve access to justice while preparing our students for real-world legal challenges.

  2. 2. DMYou 鈥� network with professionals

    DMYou is designed to help students build connections and enhance their professional skills. Through DMYou, we host a variety of exciting events such as Law Connect and Tiger鈥檚 Temple, which allow students to showcase their skills to practitioners. Our Law Link mentoring scheme connects students with experienced professionals, while the Bar Futures Programme provides aspiring barristers with valuable links to leading chambers.

  3. 3. The Law Academy 鈥� develop your power skills

    The Law Academy offers short courses focused on power skills, essential for success in today鈥檚 fast-paced legal world. This includes our newly launched Conflict Resolution Centre, where students learn to become effective problem-solvers, equipping them with vital skills for their future careers.

  4. 4. Law Global 鈥� prepare for an international career

    As part of our global outreach, Law Global prepares students for international legal careers. Through collaborations with other universities and international initiatives, such as our ongoing Graduate Expectation Series with the University of Johannesburg and our campus in Dubai, we provide our students with a global perspective and invaluable exposure to international legal networks.

  5. 5. Law Lounge 鈥� a social platform for students to connect

    The Law Lounge is a vibrant social space where students connect, learn, and grow outside the classroom. Through podcasts with industry professionals discussing current legal topics, a book club featuring thought-provoking reads like To Kill a Mockingbird and Spider Woman by Lady Hale, and our new Buddy Scheme, we encourage students to foster meaningful connections while developing a sense of community and camaraderie.

Sharan is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive and engaging academic environment, leading her to design the Law Lab, the one stop shop for students who are keen to become the lawyers of tomorrow. The Law Lab contains a number of initiatives that positively impact and inform the student journey using experiential learning and practical legal education.
