Personal profile

Freddie is a financial economist, Senior Lecturer in Finance, and the Programme Leader for the Finance and Investment (BSc) programme in the School of Accounting, Finance and Economics at De ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ University (DMU). Before joining DMU, he served as an Assistant Lecturer in Economics and Finance at Loughborough University. Freddie is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Freddie’s research interests encompass infrastructure and project finance, ESG and renewable energy, and the intersection of financial technology (Fintech) and Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning) for financial inclusion and economic development, particularly in emerging and developing countries.

His research has been published in internationally renowned economics and finance journals, including the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money (JIFMIM), Economic Letters, International Journal of Finance and Economics (IJFE), and Energy for Sustainable Development. Additionally, he has served as a reviewer for several leading journals.
